An open, public blog, providing at least a little English instruction for our listeners and students, not only here in Asia, but also globally. If volume is low on some videos, use earphones (sorry!). Thanks for your patience and flexibility! MP3 downloads are available at www.teacherbill.com. (** If you click on a video, and it says "This Video No Longer Available", try again. The videos are on youtube, but sometimes the connection doesn't work. Thanks!)

Yes, don't let things which happen to you influence your life. It is not easy, but it is important. Just like now, my dad fell down and broke his leg. He may take a surgery, otherwise he can't walk any more. Due to he is 76 years old, the risk also is high. I feel sad and cry. I still need to work every day. I need positive energy to light up my soul. I should be strong. Then I can enocurage my dad and support him. God, please bless us~
Cynthia,
I'll keep you and your father in my prayers. Take care,
Bill
Thank you, Teacher Bill. My dad had the surgery on 11/19/08 and can sit on the wheelchair now. He will go home this Sat. I write the whole process on my blog. When you have time, you can visit it. Thanks for your pray.
Bill ,can you tell me your e-mail address? So we can share some ideas and improve my English.
Hi Bill ,where's Vance Fry?When will he join the Advanced again?I think he knows a lot. And your programs become more intersting with Vance.
Dear Anonymous,
First, you can send questions to billfnl@hotmail.com . I only check that mailbox about once a week, so my replies may be a little delayed. It's my "question" mailbox.
Secondly, and sadly, Vance went back to America with his wife and children. They had been here in Asia for seven years, and wanted to return home for now. Who knows, maybe they'll return--they like it here--but for now, we have got some great new people like Brandon and Winnie helping me and Noami out on the program.
Take care!
Bill
Thanks for your sharing.
I like all the videos on your blog.
And, I must tell you that you really look younger than my imagination.:)
Younger? Wow, that's nice to hear. Thanks Puffer!
Bill
Hi Bill, Can't believe I stumped upon this short video of you shot right at where I am right now which is also where I am having probably the most difficult time in my life because of being laid off 2 months ago. Anyway, what you said in the video really encourages me a little. Thanks!!! I've also been listening to Studio Classroom many years and thank you all again for doing a really great job on helping people learn English.
Hi Nikki,
I'm glad you were able to see the video. That's really ironic that you happened upon it, and it's encouraging that it was helpful. It was very rare for me to be up at Penn State--that's the first time in many, many years--so I'm happy that I recorded that video.
Take care, and best wishes--remember a famous saying--"This too, shall pass".
Bill
I love your words of wisdom and straight-forward, light and ironic personality.
A happy person is grateful for everything good and bad in their past, a less happy one regrets.
Until I read your post, I kicked myself for not succeeding or blooming during university socially. One thing to be a (female) loner with no real friends in high school but in university, yikes. That's where you make all your life-long friends blah blah blah.
I still feel I won't have any beautiful, life-long friendships bc I'm at the age now where people are more oriented to their own young families but I also think that on the other hand, people and everything changes so much anyways in this modern world.
Thanks to your vid, I think I've put my lack of great friendships at present and beating myself up over the kid I was in uni, to rest. (not that I won't make efforts).
Thanks Bill.
